Located in their newly renovated building in the Arden-Arcade neighborhood, the occasion brought together parishioners, local leaders, and humanitarian partners.

Many early Scientologists in the area now spanning three Generations of Scientologists were true pioneers to bringing the religion to Sacramento and came through the Mission’s doors. “The driving spirit behind this are the solutions we provide to individuals who attend our services and use this very practical philosophy provided by our Founder L. Ron Hubbard to help better their own lives and in their turn the people they touch” says the Mission Executive Director Teresa Nebeker who introduced four community speakers who spoke about their experiences with the Church;

  • “When you walk through the doors, you are welcomed with a smile. Church members are serving the community, improving human rights, speaking frankly about their vision. This new Scientology Mission is yet another advocate and fierce defender of humanity.”
— Edrine Ddungu, Board Member, Africa House, and former President of the Interfaith Council of Greater Sacramento
  • “Rolling up your sleeves and standing shoulder to shoulder with other volunteers, you understand why they say, ‘you can’t put a price on a volunteer.’ During the Camp Fire, Scientology Volunteer Ministers made sure firefighters had the resources to do their job.”
— Robert Ross, Chair, Board of Directors of the Sacramento Fire Department and Community Foundation, and Operations Chief of the Sacramento Fire – “Community Emergency Response Team”
  • “People may have their differences in belief, but we are united in the work of doing good. That is what I have come to respect so deeply about the Church of Scientology—you show up. Always.”
— Ron Hermann, CEO, Station Manager and Program Director, SAC Life TV
  • “You can walk into any Church of Scientology or speak to a Scientologist, and they will help. They host forums, receptions and discussions that bring together people from all communities—Latino, Black and beyond.”
— Rene Aguilera, Founder, Cesar Chavez Youth Leadership Conference
  • Event Emcee and Mission Executive Director Teresa Nebeker addressed the enthusiastic crowd thanking those attending and stating; “Ours is a story 56 years in the making,” in a nod to the Mission’s over half a century of service to residents.” “This Mission was created with one purpose: to bring L. Ron Hubbard’s technology directly to the people of this community. This is a place where anyone can walk in and find help, knowledge, and practical solutions for life.”
